Traditional healing (also called traditional medicine) is a holistic, spiritually-based approach that is a constantly evolving, living response to the needs of people and their times.
Traditional medicine addresses imbalances on every level of life, from the most personal inner life to the most overt behavior. It defines disease not by physical pathology, but as "dis-ease" (being ill at ease) in an expanded context that includes body, mind, spirit, emotions, social group, and lifestyle.
With traditional healing, we support the total individual through ceremonies and body work that can include sweat lodges, pipe ceremonies, shamanism, working with animal spirits, scrye ceremonies, and fire ceremonies.
The techniques we use do not, by themselves, bring about healing, nor should you attend a ceremony expecting something to "happen." These techniques are, instead, part of a larger healing process that involves our skills as compassionate practitioners and your commitment as a client.
Traditional healing requires preparation and clear intention from you, ceremony to invite the spirits for their help, and your commitment to follow up on whatever messages--if any--you receive before, during, or after the ceremony.
Shamanism
Shamanism is one of the oldest types of tribal healing traditions. The shaman, in an altered state of consciousness, uses forms of journeying to spirit worlds, along with prayer and ceremony, to connect with your spirit animals or totems. Through this guidance, the practitioner helps you find a state of balance and well-being.

Native American Ceremonies
In the Native cultures of North America, ceremony is a time to pray to the spirits, receive healing, or ask for help with something in your life or for someone else. In ceremonies people also celebrate a passage of time, such as the changing of seasons, coming of a birth, moon-time or manhood, or death of a relative.
The Native connection to the earth, the spirits, and earth medicine is what has made their ceremonies so potent and life-sustaining.
The ceremonies we offer can help you honor sacred times, receive healing or guidance, express your reverence for nature and the universe, strengthen your understanding of the tight links between self and the spirits, and see human life as part of the natural cycle.

Energy and Body Work
Energy and Body Work synthesizes techniques from a number of disciplines with one goal: to align your emotional, mental, and physical body with your subtle energy body. This promotes greater harmony and health on all levels.
An important aspect of this approach is to develop and expand your ability to "go inside" and create a rich working relationship with your own body.
At the base of this work is the knowledge that your energy body remembers everything about you, knows best what is necessary to heal, and is your link to spirit and to the rest of the world. Whatever treatment modality we use, the result can be truly energizing!
Our offerings
Payment by Reciprocity
Payment for Traditional Healing services through The Foundation for Union with Truth is by reciprocity. Reciprocity is a way of defining people's informal exchange of goods, yet it occurs when one person shares goods or labor with another person without expecting anything in return.
How these two things go together is an often misunderstood concept. A shaman or medicine man offers teachings, healing, explanations of a dream, or some other service to another person. What makes this interaction "reciprocal" is the sense of satisfaction the person receiving this gift feels. Then in gratitude, the person makes an offering to the shaman or medicine man.
In traditional ways, reciprocity was often done by offering the shaman or medicine man gifts such as horses, rifles, blankets, dried meats, and tobacco. The idea is not to make the medicine man rich, rather, to provide an energy exchange. Today this gift could be anything you are inspired to offer, such as a special item, something handmade, cash or a simple pouch of tobacco. You decide what your offering will be.
